I've been upgrading as funds become available. Next on the list is either a trigger kit from kidd or a barrel from kidd. I am ready to order one or the other. Which one should I get first? I figured I should ask the enablers here for advice on this.
Trigger kit will be a swap parts and go, while the barrel will require a little bit of work on my stock frame.

Trigger usually gives the most immediate gratification and accuracy boost. If your factory trigger is one of the rare ones that isn't bad, barrel would be my first choice.

I think my Kidd single stage trigger is the best gun money I ever spent. Kidd barrel a close second. I shoot 20 + .22 lr for every center fire round I shoot. Enjoy your project(s) Keep going until you can put the original rifle back together.

I have both the barrel and trigger. My gun is now a great shooter. That being said, if you could only get one my choice would be the barrel. You can't make a bad barrel shoot good. The trigger upgrade would come second as you can never shoot good with the bad barrel but you can somewhat get used to the poor trigger. There are several things you can do to improve the trigger, but not the barrel.

I'd say upgrade the trigger first; spending more time becoming familiar with the characteristics of a better trigger will be more beneficial to you in regards to your accuracy potential than using your current trigger in combination with a "better" barrel.

And after you're able to purchase and install the KIDD barrel, you should be even more impressed with your marksmanship skills

I ordered the trigger kit, spring kit, and a magazine plunger. My Charger does fairly well picking off shotgun shells at 25 and 50 yards. Doing the trigger first seemed like a logical next step. Almost every firearm I have has had something tweaked on the trigger system making it better.
