Patience. Some of us have lives that interfere with what we want to do, or at least delay us a bit.

1911 grips

And some of use have given way more than we have received!!!!!!

Pay it forward is great until people start complaining which will In turn lead to it being removed or worse be forbidden.

The gent that received is not under any obligation to give back in any way. What people give in the pif thread is freely given.

It is intended that those that benefit from a pif likewise also give but are not required to do so.

#3 is a recommendation not a requirement

PEASHOOTER67, I thank you for the attempt to defend my honor, but it's not needed. I've been pretty busy the last few weeks, learning the ins and outs of teaching online. I learned enough about my specialized area of instruction that I got drafted by the District to help 32 other teachers in my area deal with our new reality. About the time the grips arrived, I was working 14 hour days. Now that we're up and running, that's down to 8-10, so I can actually get to the post office.

I have a few items I intended for PIF, but didn't want to list anything until I knew I could ship it quickly. I put one up tonight, as I will be going into town tomorrow for my pre-op. I won't be listing anything else for a long while, as I'm having a total shoulder replacement Thursday.

Of course, nobody bothered to PM me to ask if I intended to PIF something. To me, it takes away from the attraction of the forum and is contrary to the concept of Pay It Forward to attempt to shame someone into voluntarily contribute. It certainly robbed the joy from me, but I have fulfilled my "obligation" by giving away a completely stock Ruger trigger group. I have three more - one with the old-school VQ Competition hammer, one a Ruger Target, and one a BX - along with about the same number of barrels and stocks, all of which have value to someone.

I think, after rereading the rules for PIF and considering the experience here, I will list these items in the Trading Post Classifieds and adjust prices down as I see fit. I'd really like to see them go to worthy causes, rather than the fastest keyboard commando - no disrespect to the very polite gentleman that got the one I posted in PIF today. He was fine, and first. And I don't care if he chooses to PIF something else later or not - it's Pay It Forward, not Pay It Back.

Good luck & fingers crossed the shoulder surgery goes well.

I get first hand info with the new Covid induced teaching insanity as my sis in law is a teacher. Her school district still hasn't got it all figured out last I heard.

That road paved with good intentions has been a bit rough. Vendors have over-promised and under-delivered, districts have attempted massive changes at the worst possible time, and results have been mixed - about like compressing five years of innovation into six months, with no hands-on, face-to-face interaction. We'll get through this, with mixed results.

Everything went well. Spent the night at the hospital, released after lunch today. Didn't get much sleep last night, but plan on getting a bunch tonight. Between the cold therapy machine and the painkillers, I'm feeling very little pain.

Stay safe and stay well, folks!
