22/45 at last !

Finally got a 22/45 I bought used, then I cancelled my online order from SOSS as it was taking so long for them to send it.

The gun came with a Venom RDS for $500. They are only less than a year old and according to the seller, he only fired up to 100 rounds. I believe him because the gun looks new and the usual internal wear are very minimal.

So I went to my local range and fired 300 rounds of CCI mini mag, and the new cheap CCI Blazer in 200 round boxes to break it in

I had horrible failure to load, failure to fire, and light strikes with every change of mag for the first 100 rounds. Then I removed the baseplates, and swapped them with my other MKIV mags which solved the problem.

The above problems "might" be the reason the guy sold it...

Today, I just swapped the hammer, bushing and sear with the VQ parts I am already using on my other MarkIV... it seems to work with no issue, and I get 2 to 2.2 in lbs. trigger pull.

Yeah they look nice, but I am still getting used to it. I think I prefer the ergonomics of the Volquartsen trigger.

XDM9MM I'm curious..."Then I removed the baseplates, and swapped them with my other MKIV mags which solved the problem."

After doing the baseplate swap did you try the 22/45 mag in your MK IV. If so, how did it function?

Tks,
Wayne

I should have mentioned it in the OP.

They were finicky with the Mark IV but not as bad as with the 22/45.

I tried to call Ruger that time but they are not picking up their hpones. I also emailed Mike Nagy, bu he hasn't replied. Maybe they are closed or very busy.
