This survey is intended to gather Serial Number information on these rifles. In addition to the SN we are looking for type of wood, Peg information and notes. The notes are most important and should include but not limited to date acquired, hand tag information especially dates, sights if nonstandard and any information you feel is noteworthy. I will keep the SN's in descending order oldest to newest as follows:

SN, Peg/s, wood type, notes

No SN, both, Walnut, Manufactured between 1966 and early 1967
507688, both, Walnut, no info
747268, 1 red, Birch, no info
8893??, 1 red, Walnut, no sights
1104367, 1 red, Walnut, no info
1390665, 1 red, Walnut, no info
1399125, 1 red, Walnut, no info

Hello azmbl. I wonder what happened with the letter suffix? Perhaps another rifle was SN'd with this number and they had to add a letter to make it unique? Beautiful checkering by the way.....that cost a pretty penny. Looks like the barrel was shortened too. You can replace the green peg call Havlin's. I would say it has not been stained just very light colored Walnut....beautiful. Regards, Rick.

Pete's LSB

s/n 1391146, walnut stock with chatter marks from whatever cut the barrel channel in the forearm. Rifle came with no sights. Safety peg on right (see red the rifle is hot-go figure!) Curiously, it has a thin white spacer under the butt plate that doesn't look like it belongs. It also has the typical "WARNING..." stamped in the barrel.
I purchased it (with little "r's" help :t) on Gunbroker last November.
I sold this rifle in the spring of 2014

red peg

my no s/n rifle was missing the red peg. my grandson had a model car kit with red parts I took a piece of the frame that holds the parts cut it to length heated with a match and pushed it into the hole in the stock, polished it with 400 grit paper and it looks great as new:p

I have a LSB serial # 233496 without a ACKRO GRUVE stamp on it, walnut stock with both green and red pins. Just thought it was different than what Ive seen here, and mabe someone knows why theres no stamp on it!??
I have no idea when the switch was made but I'll do my best to find out. Does your bore have an ACKRO GRUVE barrel? Regards, Rick.

I just assumed that either it got missed or it was too early in the series to get the stqmp. As far as the bore goes I couldnt tell you the difference between an acko gruve bore and a standard bore, it shoots incredably good. Right now I have it in a bench stock and every time I shoot it im more impressed with it.

Re-Post

I am following up to correct my post. I said SN 20261 but there is a B after it. I have checked my gun three times now compared to the pictures posted here. My gun has the lowest sn starting with a 2 but it only has one red. Seems to me the safety is larger than the ones posted int he pictures. It actually covers the red when on safe.
In addition I have read through all the posts and no one else has referenced a No. 14 just forward of the chamber. Interesting.

I am new here but thanks to everyone on this forum, the 144 lsb is a really cool old gun.
