What the heck? 8-12" inches. I thought those UP and the Finns were SISU not SISSY.

Hold Morgan Freeman in high regard as an actor. Peter Sellers as Inspector Clue-so was a hoot. Don't see him as Bond, even in a spoof. There was a spoof on Star Wars called Hardware Wars. 'Twas an 'art' film, of course.

Auburn beating the crimson tide was perhaps the best game played so far this season! Woot!
--

Made it out to the club last afternoon and got another 5 boxes in at skeet w/the same < 6# inappropriately choked .410 as the other day. It wasn't pretty. Temp was 70, but winds were NW 18 G 24+(!) and it made for some just crazy targets. Scored 15, 16, 17 & 16 on the first four & switched around some on my low gun position and it didn't seem to make any discernible difference. Had more than a few high house targets into the dirt before they ever got to the low house(!) and the low house birds had minds of their own w/a few lookin' like they intended to be astronauts on super weird flight paths. I found it seriously challenging. Shot the last box from station 4 at doubles and could only manage a 14 in the late afternoon light. 63% in the aggregate. I'd take it in a dove field in winds like that and not make the first disparaging remark. Some of the misses were due to my not wanting to give those high house targets credit for moving as fast as they were. Not many skeet targets are missed from shooting in front, tho I used to do that consistently on H-2. With my weird central vision, I have to shoot right at it to break it and too I set up turned in more to the left w/my footing than most people that shoot rt. handed. I do the same for station 1, footing wise. It helps me from having the left eye 'grab' the target, especially the L-1 single. Yesterday wasn't a day to be doing serious practice, but it was a great afternoon for having fun. We got about " of rain just before the wet got pushed out around noon.

It was good to be outside and have some sunshine and only needing a T-shirt, tho I did have two of them on to abate the wind. It cooled of quickly as the light waned & I needed a jacket by the time the sun had set. Those dark & dank winter weather spells can give a feller the blah's fair quick. Interesting how some sunshine fixes that, even quicker.

Its going to be much cooler today starting from 40 and topping in the mid 50's & NW winds 15 or so w/gusts continuing into the 20mph range, but skies are clear now & forecast to remain so. Sunshine! I'll go and shoot at some more skeet's, but not w/the mouse gun. Thinking a 20ga. field gun should be about right. Have some rounds loaded that are due for the basura, once they are fired. Its going to be another nice day to be out and shooting at those silly things.

Last of the fall leaves are almost out of the trees now and they may be dry enough to mulch w/the mower on Monday or Tuesday. Plenty of things to do while the weather holds. All good.

Wasn't it though! I felt sorry for Alabama's poor kicker missing that easy field goal at the end that would have tied it and possibly sent them into overtime. There were enough mistakes made by others that could also be looked at as causing their loss, but his was the last one that will stick in people's minds.

I'm a Georgia football fan myself. They've got a tough one at 3pm Saturday against LSU. Sorry Don, but I've got to cheer on the Georgia boys.

That was the best Bond film ever.

Woody Allen was the villain.

Some people have no taste.

LSU eked out a victory against Last Shot's Aggies. 50-7. Not sure where the '7' came from. Pity points?

Packed for the range. Ammo included.

Ya know Mayor, one time, a long time ago, my father discribed how just before his heart attack it felt like a cinder block on his chest as he breathed.

Some decades later I was feeling kind of punky one day and I says to myself "feels like I got a cinder block on my chest when I breathe". Now, I'm the first to admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I got my wife to take me to the ER down the street and the lady at the desk took one look at me and said "so, we're having a heart attack today, sir?" I was, I did, she and others took care of it.

I guess by the time you read this you'll be woke up and okay...so never mind. But even us night shift lurkers care about all of you. You guys are a primary source of dark night amusement.

Its the wind causing whiteouts and less than seasoned drivers w/o even a real shovel, AWD, and snow tires giving us a bad name.

Good clays vs Wook report, Wook.

And you guys are why my wife shuts the bdrm blinds every nite.

Got 10-11", maybe more as my snow gauge is in the middle of the BY where its the mostest wind swept.
At last report those w/o power has gone from 400 folks since Wed., to more than 1,100 now. Pines are especially heavily laden with new snow on top of old. NBD here if the power stays on....one of the living in the city perks besides seeing snowplows more often than those living on the edge, yo.

Tweeties pounding the feeder.

First n last!!

Thermo-meter is snow plastered hence unreadable but definitely below freezing.

For a really groovy Peter Sellers 1960s hip flick, check The Party. Quite amusing but not PC with Sellers as a bumbling person of the Asian Indian persuasion. Also had Claudine Longet (sp?), who a friend of mine admitted to listening to her sing to go to sleep by with his college roommate.

I'm afraid to ask what that means, but we finished it up Friday night, and it was pretty good, though I'm not generally a wiseguy film fan.

Last night, we started a new PBS mystery series called Thou Shalt Not Kill, an Italian production (yes geezers, you have to either learn Italian or read subtitles) that is very good, with a main character being a female detective who is stunningly beautiful - the eyebrows alone are to die for.

1st latte is half consumed.

Maybe we'll go down to the park, if the rain holds off...
