Sg-- THAT is a pretty impressive target for a 1022. I take it this is the same Ruger you used for the November match? Having little or no wind certainly helped, I'm sure. How about providing some more details on that Ruger, like what trigger, receiver, bolt, rear lug, bedding, and so on? Whatever your recipe is, it seems worth duplicating if results like that can be expected. And yes, I realize one still has to STEER it properly.

Ruger 1022

Yes sir it is the same rifle I used for the November target. I have also used it for some of the class 111 targets in the fun shoot. I actually know very little about the rifle as I bought it about 6 months ago. The gentleman I got it from was not sure about the internals in the rifle. All I know about the trigger is that it breaks just shy of two pounds and is very soothing. Reciever is a Ruger . No rear lug but has been drilled for a clean rod. No information on bolt, other than it has a roll pin above the firing pin. The stock is bedded and looks to be a professional job. The barrel is a Lilja. I have not been able to try any quality ammo except for the eley match and team. Will be interesting to see how it shoot some of the other brands if and when they become more available.

Sg-- No rear lug, so I assume that barrel must have a pressure point (NOT a full floating barrel)? What does the bedding look like? Does it have a substantial portion of the barrel bedded just forward of the receiver? How about posting a pic or two the next time you have the barreled action out. As I said previously, whatever recipe the original builder used, it appears to work pretty darn good!

As an aside, one of our local clubs has a "once a year" bench match for semi-autos ONLY (any brand/flavor), and shot on the unlimited ARA target. We get everything from garden variety AND custom 10-22s, 597 Remingtons, Thompsons, etc, even a couple of AR-22's. Great fun to be had at this match competing against other mag-fed semi-autos. A score of 2000 just about guarantees a win at this one. I seem to recall a "1685" was the top score at this year's match.

Pipes: I'm pretty good at that (the excuses part). Very nice shooting on that target. WHAT is that front rest? Looks like something I need...

The rest is made by SEB. I don't know that it makes me shoot any better but the joystick makes moving from target to target a breeze. Once on target you can let go of the joystick and the rifle remains in position while you take the shot. Lots of good options out there for rests but I decided on this one as it is very well built and easy to transport folded up.
