Trigger Group Tightness?

Howdy all.

Having not fired my 597 in a long while, I just took her out for some fresh air. I notice there is a slight wiggle if I take hold of the trigger group while she is fully assembled. Honestly, I just can't remember if that was normal or not!

What's the verdict, is that just the way it is?

Thanks and be safe!

Normal. You can tighten it up with a few strips of tape.

I have a couple 10/22s with a lot of play up and down at the rear of the trigger guard. I haven't tried to do anything about it yet. The rear pin that holds the trigger guard to the receiver is where all the play is. I really think Ruger could tighten things up a bit. On most of their guns you have to be careful when you disassemble them because stuff just falls out due to loose pins.

Best tape is real duct tape for bedding because its thin and the layer of glue also actually very thin and compresses very little over time, especially when compared to your reg. duct tape most folks use.
