Went to the range today...basically the same issue. What's happening is that the hammer is not being cocked.

I can tell because I cannot engage the safety after a FTF when the trigger is pulled. Once I manually cycle the slide, it worked again.

Ii got repeatable results with CCI, Federal black box, Winchester, Remington, and Federal Target ammo.

So, I backed out the PT screw even more and started getting two rounds fired with one trigger pull.

The other two Mark IV's are perfect and a pleasure to shoot.

Any thoughts? My ears are wide open.

Thanks,

Dan

Plunger spring suggestion noted! (I'm familiar with this one).
New Firing pin is also on order. I might even install the old sear spring.

Next step is a call to Volquartsen.

Thanks everyone!

At this point I would just send the receiver to VQ. Yea it cost money but at least when you get it back it will work the way itís supposed to.

Tried calling VQ but they're still short staffed and not taking calls.
I'll try the old springs and see what happens. Maybe some parts swapping with the other MK IV's ...at least the range is open now!

Thanks all,
Dan

Trigger Troubles, Episode #3

Today was a gun cleaning day so I once again disassembled my MK IV and noticed that a slight oil film on the disconnector would cause it to stick and the hammer would not drop. (maybe this is what was happening all along?)

So, on the advice of others here, I replaced the VQ trigger spring with the stock Ruger spring and I also replaced the VQ spring with the stock Ruger spring.
Trigger pull is now 2.6 to 2.9lb. Off to the range on Friday to see how this works.

Wish me luck!

250 rounds today and nothing but a couple of stovepipes!

Thanks for all the ideas, everyone, the old springs did the trick!
