Sorry for the late post. My wife and I are in the middle of moving to a patio home. Been a exciting last 3 weeks. Put house on market and it sold in one day for $8,000 more than we asked. Six showings in one day and 6 offers. Still waiting on the patio home to be finished, mid June.

A little rambling on there.

Same as in the past, post your score and maybe a photo of your setup for everyone to see.

Maybe we will see more shooters this month, with the easing of the lockdowns some of you have experienced.

Our range just re-opened this week. As soon as the crowd thins out, I'll give it a try.

Corona still hasn’t slowed down the shooting here plenty of range time in past two months. Been playing with rifles and sights.

It is shooting as well as the Mk II now Ed, conditions have just been horrible in these parts. A few tweaks here and there and it come around.

Hank Smith (Pastprime), Salisbury, NC
Remington 540X, Redfield 75 (Dogleg) rear, Redfield 63 front. Center-X.
Caldwell Tackdriver bag front, Bald Eagle bag rear.
Sunny, 70 F, wind 1-4 mph from 7 o'clock. Best day for shooting in a while here.

50-4x, 50-3x, 50-5x, 50-4x = 200-16x

It has taken several months to find the trigger parts and sights to restore this rifle to what I've read is the original configuration although apparently there were several different rear sights used. This is my first target with it at 50 yards and it looks like it will be OK of the shooter will learn to put the groups in the center of the bull.......

Whether it's your first time shooting this target or shooting that rifle, that is a very good start. What year is your rifle? Some of the older ones shoot amazingly well.

Welcome, Barry! Young or old just don’t allow those peep sights to get dusty.

199-10x
Kimber 82G w/ 2.3 mm on Centra adjustable up front.
Fed UM
Protektor front & rear bags
Temp in the 80's, w/ a mild 3-5 mph breeze from 5 o'clock
50-2x, 50-4x, 50-2x, 49-2x

Shot this a couple weeks ago and achieved PR's on score and x count. Target shows some splatter from the back of the silhouette frame even though its tilted 45 deg down. Been reading up on some of the front sight diameters people use and 3mm+ seems to be the norm - have to try that, but it seems BIG.

Barry - good first target. Keep at it.

Shooting rifles as old as we are ...

Hi Barry, I am age 78 and some of the rifles and shotguns I shoot are older than me. I do not know the age of the two rifles I use for this game, but think they were probably made in the fifties or sixties. Just getting broken in. Cleaned from the rear so the crown doesn't get damaged, except when at the range with a bore snake, then drop it in the muzzle and pull out the receiver. Reason, there is no way you can consistently pull it from the muzzle end without some side pressure on the end of the barrel, potentially cutting the metal over time. The relaxed flip flop at the muzzle when pulling from the rear won't do any damage. David
