I donít think one of these have posted before - Republic RF-84F Thunderflash. This one is in front of the Middle School out the road from me about 1/3 mile. It was the High School when I went there but that was several years before the plane was brought there. Also, it has been repainted twice since these pictures, last time I think was 2015.

You know we haven,t seen? F102 Delta Dagger/F106 Delta Dart. They used to fly out of Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY as NORAD interceptors. There were several on a stick locally but they were moved years ago. Very distinctive planes. They accounted for many of the sonic booms in CNY back in the day.

At the AF Museum in Dayton.

At Dyess, TX.

Dyess has a lot of airplanes on outdoor display. They are kept in outstanding condition.

Note the picture of the F-84 at the Air Force Museum. It has a big ol' hook sticking up in front of the pilot. This is one of the aircraft that was rigged to be carried under a B-36 , then released to scoot out in front and drop a nuke then rehook under the B-36.

Saw the films of that F84 trying to get hooked back up. Almost impossible and some scary footage. It was one of those good ideas at the time but not viable and the project was dropped.
