Just secured a 512 Sportmaster and curious as the gun has a fancy stock with checkering but the stock looks very factory, curious if the gun could have been ordered that way, anyone know?
Possible it was added later, hand checkering is time consuming but not hard if you have patience & the right tools.
My dad has customized a few rimfire stocks over the years, burning patterns, routing hand or finger grooves, and one got some nice hand checkering. He was proud of his results but only did it once cause it took so much time.
Sorry for the abrupt comment. being new you would not know.
