This is not a toy...

Han Solo's heavy blaster pistol was a modified version of the standard BlasTech Industries DL-44 model. Like all DL-44s, Solo's blaster offered above-average firepower without compromising accuracy, and was one of the reasons why the weapon was so ideal for the smuggler. It was also easily modifiable, which allowed Solo to make a number of modifications, including, at one point, removing the blaster's motion-sensitive barrel scope. Solo did this so the blaster pistol could be drawn faster from its holster and improve his reaction time, but also because he was confident in his own aim. Even in his later life, as he grew older, Solo remained a quick draw.

The DL-44's capacitor was capable of charging a laser bolt at twice the power without overheating. The heavy blaster pistol still retained a cooling unit beneath the firing barrel, as DL-44s were prone to quickly overheating otherwise. The DL-44 was renowned across the galaxy as one of the most powerful blaster pistols, as its laser bolts were powerful enough to pierce through the armor of Imperial stormtroopers.

A few of Dean's great guns and photos.

This is one of Dean's photos of two of his guns. I always loved this photo with the sun shining on them.

The Hart 700 Varmint gun is in the background. The 223 pistol that's in the foreground, he sold years ago.

Dean's Calfee Custom 82 Govt.

Dean's XP100 308 Win

Dean's Dan Wesson 375 SuperMag

Dean's custom M36Cooper

The brand new custom Freedom Arms with the octagon barrel that I gifted him in 2005.

The Smith & Wesson 57 [41 Caliber] that Dean gifted me for my 50th Birthday in 2005.

I always considered it a combo gift for Dean and I. He loved the 41 Calibers and I loved that it was bright and shiny.

Dean holding his two prized Calfee Custom XP's in 2007.

Sadly, Dean passed away at 68 on Dec. 7, 2020 from Lymphoma cancer.

I take gun pics different then most people. I call it my floating gun shots.

I actually have the guns hanging from a backdrop stand with fishing line when I take the picture. I photographed a friends hand guns that he engraves for his business web site. On those I clamped a drill press vice to a bar stool with a brass rod in it. Just slid the barrels over the rod.

In edit work I photoshop the fishing line, and brass bar out of the image.
