Thought I'd mention that I visited a gun shop and they told me that you can now order the Remie 547. They said the retail price was around $1300 for the LR version and they were willing to sell it for about $1050.
The price shocked me. I was expecting them to sell for around $800 like the Weatherby. So, I have a feeling this model will not last long in the market as it is priced in the Anshutz/Cooper area. Any thoughts?
As an aside, I looked at the new Ruger LCP 380 auto pocket model in person. It will be priced around $300. Kel Tec will not be able to compete with the new pocket auto with the strong Ruger name. The Rugers aren't for sale yet. I don't particularly like pocket autos, but I frankly was wanting to reach for my wallet on this one. It's sweet with a 8 lb trigger.
Especially since they were built in the custom shop, which is now Dakota Arms and there seems to be some litigation concerning how much of Dakota Arms is included in the bankruptcy petition... Dakota may be split up as part of the proceedings as a result... watching to see what happens here
I ordered three rifles on 3/15/2016 One was a C grade, a D grade, and an F grade they all have all the options. This order was originally placed with Shane Earl in Illion on the above date. With the move to Dakota/Remington Custom Shop in Sturgis SD the orders were put on hold. Once Remington CS started producing again it took 3 plus years to get acceptable English walnut, I looked at over 500 blanks!!!!
Once all the wood was picked we began production of the three rifles. Well during this process, It was discussed to have Master Engraver Jesse Kauffman do the engraving on the F grade. Well Jesse being the perfectionist he is was told, engrave them with gold, He went Jesse Rogue on them and a new grade was born the Gold High Grade or High Grade. So my F Grade became a Gold High Grade, The D grade became an F grade and the optioned up C grade became a D grade.
This is the first rifle I received it is the Gold High Grade with all the extras on the engraving and rifle. The rifle options are Spec Select exhibition English Walnut, hand rubbed oil finish, ebony forend tip , shadowline cheek, point skel butt, point skel grip, High grade checkering pattern notice the ribbons, Ken howell inletted swivels, polish blued, and engraving plate. Now the Engraving is the Jesse Kauffman High Grade pattern with, extras. Notice the magazine floorplate, the trigger guard, the bolt shroud, the F and S indicator, and etc.
So here are the pictures and hopefully the others will get completed!!!!!
Speechless, thanks for sharing this piece of gunmakers art. It is truly amazing, and congratulations on your patience. It appears good things do come to those who wait.

Rich - a belated congratulations on the completion of the first rifle in your trio. You must have a deep well of patience to put up with all the 'opportunities' along the way ! The extra gold touches by the engraver really topped it off. Any reliable timeframe given on the D and F grades ?
I have no idea how/why I missed this thread before, but, Rich, THAT has to be the most spectacular rifle I've ever seen! But, of course, I'm a sucker for fine English Walnut. Just WOW!!! Gobs of frustration, but had to be worth the wait.
I've been wondering what is going to happen to the 547 program and the Custom Shop since Remington has now been sold... I was giving serious thought to ordering a 547 about the time they declared bankruptcy , so I've been considering my options ...
After seeing this 547, I may have to just make my own just to have one. It definitely won't be as ornate as that one though...
