Well Sarge the secretary of war was very cooperative. She had been wanting to try her new recipe for hot wings.

Well I am about all shot out I need to let the Annies get a rest for a day or two here is todays hunt. Shorts roomate is still trying to get the hang of it.

Well, I kind of fell on my nose this morning. Spent too much time in a batch of 50 ft hickories watching the leaves shake and the nuts fall. Finally got one and moved out to the edge of an old pasture and found some slower, dumber reds. By then it was getting hot and I bailed on 'em.

22 man.. if I'd have shot every squirrel I even got a glimpse of I wouldn't have had that many. Good day! Good job!

How do you do up the "hot squirrels"? Do you parboil them first? Man, they look good.

Nice shootin' Bolt.. that little 'coon better watch out, he's liable to get caught in the crossfire.

My wife parboils for about 20 minutes full boil, then dredges them in a flour mixture of the following; 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour,3 tbl garlic powder, 2 1/2 tbl paprika, 2 tbl salt, 1 tbl black pepper, 1 tbl onion powder, 1 tbl cayene pepper, 1tbl dried oregano, 1 tbl thyme, 1 tbl salt.
After dredging let sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the flavors. Then fry until golden brown
Mix 1 cup hot sauce, 1/2 cup honey, 3 tbl brown sugar. Let sit in fridge for about an hour for the flavors to blend.
Dip each squirrel piece into sauce and put into a baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over squirrel. Bake for about 15-20 minutes.

That sounds very tasty 22man. I'll have to give that a try myself. Looks like everyone is cleaning up on the the nut munchers. I'm having trouble trying to do this pic thing. I just can't figure it out. I'll see if ole Bad Shot Too can do something with them.

Scotty - Got to stay hydrated for the coach, lol. I got a ways to go to live up to the legend of Daisy. Nice shooting there.

Bolt -Yeah, you guessed correctly, my buddy didn't want to hold them because he didn't shoot any of them. So this morning I made sure he shot one. Got a nice brain shot on him.

Savage 93FV in 22 magnum is my current favorite.

Sarge - I ended up using squacks method. Cut the tail and step on the excess skin and pull, right? It definently is easier than the old method.

Everyone else, thanks for the kind words. Went out this morning again got 2 squirrels and a nice cottontail. Then 4 other cars showed up where we were hunting and didn't see much after that.

22 man - Impressive as always, im begining to think you and short raise squirrels and release them only to hunt them down.

Hide - Good job killing those IA squirrels. Its been super hot out lately, and the mosquitos are killer over here. Same for you?
