As I remember, mine enjoyed Federal Auto-Match, in the 300-and-some-round white box.

But it really wasn't very fussy at all.

CCI minis and Federal Auto Match. I've had trouble with Winchester over the years in many pistols I just don't even test or buy it anymore. What is wrong with Winchester??? Their AA shotgun shells are some of the best I've ever used. I've not had any problem with their center fire pistol ammo that I can remember.

CCI Mini-Mags for most shooting, like for target accuracy and consistency. Though, I really haven't found any ammo that my SR22 can't fire to the ammo's potential (just make a point of staying away from any Remington product . . . especially Thunderbolt)

But around the house I keep it loaded with Winchester Hyper Speed HP's to get maximum power out of a .22LR round in case I might need to use it in self defense if my other pistols (like my 9mm) aren't handy. Yes, Winchester ammo will have large ES's, but that really doesn't matter to me at self defense distances.

Since this thread has found new life I'll add a post. I installed a Burris Fastfire III red dot on the SR22. I am a much better shot with that setup. The only fly in the ointment is that the g g daughter has just turned 11 and can still out shoot me with it.

Actually I am very happy that she likes to shoot and is good at it.
