I started on a new stock today. This one is gonna be walnut, with a nosecap from a piece of scrap zebra wood, left over from a centerfire build I did a while back.

Here's a picture of the zebra wood 243 I built. It has some really neat looking grain.

Itís just a Truoil finish. The zebra wood is easy to work, a lot like walnut, just a little more expensive.

I got the action inlet this morning. Installing the pillar and bedding the back of the trigger group, will be my next project. Then, I'll start working on the shape of the stock. What usually happens with this process is, I'll change my mind a time or two, before I start cutting. That's not a good thing, but I think this is what keeps me from getting burnt out with the stock building.

Here's a few pictures of, what the stock is gonna look like. It has a small blemish in the thumbhole, it was hard to take a picture of, but I know its there. I had to glue in a small piece of wood and sand it down. I don't think it can be seen, unless it is pointed out.
The stock will get a couple more coats of truoil before I’ll call it finished.

It now has a loving home with me, and 2 other Larry stocks. The finish is still curing it got here so fast.

Honestly, unless you are inspecting the stock for blemishes or flaws, you wouldn't see the patched portion. Great job Larry.
