New VQ Scorpion hits the range

Ordered a Scorpion from Alan at Rimfire Sports a couple weeks ago, picked it up and finally got to the range with a Vortex Venom RDS mounted. I had Alan tweak a stock configuration (hi-viz front, single slot brake for ease of cleaning) and he was great to work with - highly recommended.

Tried a number of different ammo types I had on hand, both HV and SV. 100% function with everything except a FTE and a dud with Federal Auto Match - not surprised since it has been a turd with my 10/22's as well.

The target in the photo was 30 rounds of CCI SV and SK Pistol Match combined (10 of SKPM and 20 of CCI-SV) at 25 yds. I was shooting from a bag, no barrel support. I'm sure the pistol can do better in different hands or a better rest but I'm thrilled.

Love the gun although I keep having to tighten the lock ring for the brake. I'm already thinking of a 4.5" 22/45 style to go with it

I have the same gun, except I ordered a set of left hand laminated grips. I put a Leupold Delta Point on it,just love everything about it!

30 of them in that little patch, I'd be satisfied.

volq comp

Hey Griz I shoot Volquartsen scorpions in steel challenge competitions and I have had my comps loosen up on me. I switched over to Volq aluminum forward blow compensators. I put a rubber 0 ring on, then the comp. They stay in place, but are easily removed when it comes time to clean them. Several of my buddies who shoot scorpions have switched over also. Have fun with the new scorpion= they are great pistols.
