Just for fun I decided to test a .221fireball load with a 40g vmax. First 3 shots were within moa at 200yds. #4 drifted left then #5 went wild up. My barrel went black! Test over.

My test of CFE Blk in the .222 was also a minor disaster. Reloder 10 not much better.

My tried and true is 19gr of AA1680 with 50gr vmax. I still experiment with others because of sporadic supplies.

IMR-3031 worked best for me with a 55 grain V-Max.

My 222 has never had any thing in it but BLC2. It will shoot under 1" with hunting bullets which are 50gr CCI hollow point. Better with target bullets.

H322 has been a "go to" powder of choice for many a triple deuce shooter.

I have the baby brother version of a the 222 and my 20-222 loves H322 as well. It's incredibly temp stable and shoots itty bitty little groups, what's not to like.

Correction, this was for my .223. Misread the title.
