tt5;

CZ452 American LHB. Scope is a Nikon Monarch 3.3-10X A/O mil-dot, riding in Talley high rings. Clearance between the objective lens housing & the barrel is approximately 1.45mm, measured with a metric feeler gauge.

It's updated with input from the last few days. See the first page. I also posted a link to the excel file, since the graphical table is getting large.

And here's my combination- FS with a Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x32 and Burris signature rings in medium. I had to remove the rear sight ladder to get this on. Maybe I could have managed if i pushed the scope all the way to the rear, but that would have driven a change to my head position. Plenty of bolt handle clearance too.

NC Star Rings -- they fit

Moved from another thread......................

Let me join the fray. Purchased a 452 American in Dec. and it took me 3+ weeks to locate the right rings in a local store. Probably should have just orderd a set online. I only had to buy 2 sets to get a set that was tall enough.

Here is the combo:
Rifle: 452 American LH
Scope: Centerpoint 4-16x40 AO (Medium won't work with this scope)
Rings: NC Star RB27 (tall rings)

Clearance from the 40mm bell to barrel is abut 5/16" but that is much better than a negative number. The rings fit the dovetail nicely as well. The Leapers RGPM-25H4 looks to be very similar if not identical.

Let me try the photo upload trick next.....................

Finally got a scope mounted on mine, scope sits to high my tastes but at least it is on until I can come up with something better. Think I will try the CZ 19007 ring, if my measurements are correct that should give me a barrel clearance of .152 or there abouts.

Rifle: 453 Varmint
Scope: Mueller 8-32x44 Target
Rings: B-square Sport Utility Serues 27064
Barrel clearance: .307

Got my CZ 3/8" weaver rail in the mail Friday. Tried to mount it on my 453 Varmint .17 HMR and found out that this rifle has an 11mm rail . Ordered a 11mm rail from CZ yesterday.

updated again, with the latest week of input.

piperpilott3k, thats odd that you have an 11mm HMR varmint. I wonder what the machining tolerances are. Does it measure 11mm across the top of the dovetail or around 12.7mm across the top?

I just measured the dovetail with my digital caliplers and it is exactly 11.00mm. I guess I should have measured it before I bought the weaver rail

Bruno #1 ... Nitrex TR ONE 6-20X50...

Got the rings and mounts from Denny , CZ Tall I had to remove the rear sight, and add a cheek pad for the stock.

Scope is overkill I know, but I got it for cheap. Glad I sprung for it the view is amazing.

Not since it's a 453. The chart is correct for everything except the 453 Varmint .17 HMR. All (or most) RFC members that have the 453 Varmint .17 HMR have 11 mm dovetails.

1. 453 Varmint
2. Mueller Target 8-32x40 30mm tube
3. BKL 300
4. Standard mounting
5. Way too high, about .6" between scope and barrell
6. Target and plinking

Have lurked on and off for a couple of years, my recent interest in 50 ft postal matches has led to me playing with my 452 Trainer. Put the Mueller APV scope on it using CZ steel rings--this is a combo I don't believe I've run across here. Not pretty, but seems to work for bench and target work. Waiting on some BKL 257 rings for the trainer, this scope is headed for a 452 American with Talley rings.

Would like to thank everyone for all the insight into scope/ring combination for these CZ guns (I've got three). thanks,

Jim T.
