I found a stainless Tracker 992 with the 6.5 barrel, and it is the older model
before the NO FINISH latest model, and it has the Lifetime Warranty Card. It is
new from an authorized dealer. I am impressed with the fit and finish, and the
great trigger. As we all know, the trigger and fit and function are hit or miss.
The Cylinder Change out is very simple from .22 LR to .22 Magnum. I have
fired only about 100 rounds, but it is fairly accurate (not as accurate as my
Smith and Wesson 617), but it will do for plinking and non formal shooting.
TheDouble Action pull is very close to 10 LB, and the single action pull is 4 lb.
I am going to get the trigger lightened up a little with a spring change ( there
goes the warranty ). I am having trouble finding decent wood grips for it.
Altamont shows them on their page, but they have been temporarily out of
stock for a few months now. The " Ribber " grips aren't bad, they just have a
weird feel. Does anyone know a source for nice wood grips for the 992
Tracker?
