Unfortunately I only snapped the one. Right after this picture I hightailed it back to the truck. Gun season starts Monday here and I started hearing 4 wheelers, people yelling, and shotgun blasts. I don't think they were illegally hunting deer, just pushing and driving to see where they would run. I got out of there pretty quick. Kinda sucked though because it was about an hour before dark and the squirrel were really starting to move.

I like nice stuff. But hate dinging em up.

Finally said screw it and got a beater .35 rem 760, Auto 5 20 ga and 10/22 Fingergroove.

I don't abuse them but am not gonna flip out when they get a little more character.
Had mint 1100 magnums and 870 Wingmasters and Ruger #1's,

Killed a ton of stuff too, but always babied em.

The .35 rem doesn't kick much but slams deer. It just flat out works so well. Figure it as 150 yard cartridge, but so far all my deer have been half that or closer.

I have a brand new Steyr .30-06 that won't get blooded this yr.
Slept in today, rough night at work (sinus headache).
TRy maybe this evening w the Contender pistol, or all day hunt tomorrow.
Last day for gun season here.

Took my father in law out after some raccoons with the foxpro. Had a record day, started with a triple on the first set. Had a few dry ones followed up with two singles. Finished with another triple for a total of 8 and saw 12. About ran out of room in the jeep for the ride home.

My neighbor shot this young 8 point yesterday. He had that fence wrapped so tight it’s a wonder he got free.

Might have been cut free. I've had to do that for deer with there back leg stuck in a top double wire barbed fence. I always carry thick leather gloves and wire cutters in my vehicles now.

Gun season over now.
And what pops up at LGS?
A decent Remington 14 in .35 rem.
Yeah, it's mine now.

Will be my screw around doe killer for next yr.
Try to make it fun.
Peep sight required, and doesn't have one.
Looked around online, ouch........pricey.

Think it will give me a reason to visit shops/shows, try to find one at a better price this summer

Converting my Contender .35 rem pistol into a .22 mag or .22 rf rifle.
Done w specialty pistols.

My dad does have a .256 win bbl from the Custom shop.....but he's such a cranky old fart I said screw it, bought the Model 14.

Sounds like my dad...who reminded me this morning that I still had his Marlin 336 30-30 that I borrowed to deer hunt with last season...
