Gents...
Have said rifle that fires and extracts all domestic ammo fine so far..
In stepping up to test some better quality have found it will fire, but not extract anything from wolf, SK, TAC, and fed UM..

Have not tried eley or Lapua yet but all the German ammo were consistent FTE
Any ideas?

Fed from the magazine or inserted by hand into the chamber? Extractor may not be grabbing the rim of inserted by hand. Just a thought.

All cartridges fed smoothly from magazine, fired, then FTE with the mentioned ammo

Two Possibilities

Two possibilities, first your extractor is damaged or the wrong type. There is an M1 and M2 extractor. Second, excessive headspace. Is the bolt original to the rifle? Is the receiver serial number electro-etched on the bottom of the bolt.

Scrub that chamber. Then, scrub it again. Might not be the issue, but it wonít hurt! Get some Kroil and a good bronze brush and go to town.

Best of luck. 👍👍

Art.. thank you for the reply..

just checked against your pic and my extractor is much more like the M1 extractor in your pic.
Also the matching serial number is etched onto the bottom of the bolt.
Wish I could post pics here but I can’t seem to get them to work

Chuck,
I gave it a good scrubbing today and I hope it’s that simple. Have access to a borescope so I’ll send that down soon as I can. It was just odd that all domestic brands were no trouble and all 4 German options gave consistent FTE

Also, what is the rim thickness of the ammo that extracts compared to the ammo that does not?

Art... I also noted the bottom of my extractor did seem a bit different then the one in your picture.. I will feed some rounds onto the bolt face and note how secure they are. Also will take some rim measurements and report back
Thank you
