Hello, all. I purchased the 457 PV a few days ago. At this point, it appears to favor SK Standard Plus. The scope is an older "coin click" Leupold 3-9x33 EFR. A solid compact rig.

Nice shooting. I had a VX3 3.5-10x. Nice scope. but had the same turret adjustments as yours. Sold it off with one of my hunting guns. I think that scope was meant more for hunting then anything else.

Think you have a winner there. Looks good and shoots good. Put lots of rounds through it before you start to try and make it better.

That's great shooting at 50 yards with a 3~9X scope. Very impressive.

Thanks, guys. I plan to leave it stock, as I really don't see any reason to modify it...except, I do love the Woodland Camo pattern that McMillan uses-so maybe I'll have the stock painted. I did play around with different inch pound torque settings for it's action, and landed on 30 inch pounds which helped produce the group pictured. The trigger is a bit heavy at ~ 2lbs 12oz for itty bitty groups, but is fine for hunting gray squirrels. I still need to get it zeroed "dead on" before hunting season this fall, so I'll use a different target with vertical and horizon lines to help me index for a consistent aiming point. Finally, I really like that this compact rig has enough weight for me to hold steady for accurate shots and a shorter barrel for maneuverability in the woods. Kudos to CZ for offering quality products at reasonable prices.

J Scott sir I personally don't care for the looks of short barrel rifles...but your set up is really sexy and rocks at the range. Great job and thanks for sharing

I don't own any CZs in 22lr but with results like yours and rjferber I just might have to change my ways.

Nice setup J Scott and that's a great looking group. I have a 455 Tacticool that has a similar appearance and as I recall produced similar results. Your post reminds me I need to get it and a couple other 455 Varmints out for a range session.

Congrats on the 457 Pro Varmint and enjoy. Itís always pleasing when a rifle doesnít require the higher priced fodder. .

Best rimfire scope ever made IMO. I've got three of them. It's a shame they quit making them.

Thanks, guys. It's one of those rifles that just begs to be shot; accurate + reliable + easy to carry = fun

J Scott sir your enabling us please stop...it's hard enough just to see what you have done with your rifle but great wise words too I just can't take this. LOL I am so glad it's a 22lr...if it was a 17hmr or 22mag...it would be on my to buy list.

Thanks for your input.

LOL funny you should ask, that is a "pepper pot" holes all the way around it,
doesn't do a dang thing thing other than protect the threads and muzzle, and to my warped eye looks good.
I took it off an AR upper years ago and it screwed right on my CZ 457, the company is long gone now.

this is my I am a fan for this rife, the ID of the rings a .5" Shot @ 100yd
