After awakening to all the kind words and encouragement this morning I was motivated to give it another try. It was a little drizzly but nice with temps in the mid 70s. After a few warm-up, some 3 shot groups that were all very nice and a slight adjustment I shot my third target with the 452 American. I was still plagued by those crazy 8s, throwing one on each of the last 2 rows with the usual couple of 9s up above......... so a 244-5x was the best I could get out of it. The thing was, it all felt good and I knew I could do better. Put up the last target and really concentrated and took my time. I have to listen to that little voice in my head when it says "back off". Another pesky 8 from I don't know where.

Nice shooting Lee. I've got 3 more targets for the month, I'm going to get there one way or another.

Lee what you need to do since we have a hour. Is everytime you clean that top row. Go out there and raise the target up so the next row is at the same elevation.

Good suggestion Taterchip. It would take at least an hour since I would have to rest at least 10 min. once I made it back to the bench. Can we require Squirrelbark to do that? It might wear him down a little by the time he got back up to the squirrel nest.

Guess I'll have to keep shooting and hoping for better times plus work on my mojo. I spent the afternoon staining my tacked together gun rack and waiting for it to dry to put some leather inserts where the rifles rest. With such a nice place to rest before each shooting session they have to feel better and special and I know they will bless me with better scores.

Old_Sarge: You have to tell us the rest of the story that goes with your avatar photo. Did the kid survive? Was that you?

I just read this whole last page and laughed more than I have in a long time.
I just noticed the Limsaver on lastombstone's rifle. He must be a mighty tall dude. But forget about working on your Mojo, because I have it right here in this glass cylinder.

But that is still a good score...especially since you shot it on your shaky table without your Mojo.

I' glad I'm good for something, even if it is a good laugh.

Since you have kidnapped my mojo I guess I'll have to start on a Squirrelbark voodoo doll and some big hat pins to try and make you turn it loose so it can drift back up here. But I suspect that explains part of your great targets lately. There was a lot of talk about my mojo back in the late 60s.

Over supper I discussed Taterchip's suggestion about moving my target between rows and my wife has volunteered to come out tomorrow, if I'm up to it and it isn't too hot, and handle that chore for me.

Any man who can get his wife to move his targets for him has way more Mojo than I do. That's truly amazing. Can't wait to tell my wife and see what her reaction will be.

At least I know where mine is. Maybe your's is in the same place. If Squirrelbark has found a way to transfer multiple mojos it is now wonder he is unbeatable. And all that crying about back surgery and such. Heck, last night I thought I was having a stroke or a heart attack. Left arm was aching and my hand felt like it was asleep for hours. Finally got to sleep around 2 but knew I wouldn't be shooting today. Now I'm wondering if Squirrelbark has got the jump on me again and made a lasttombstone voodoo doll.

no the pic I found on the internet (many years ago) I showed it to my mom and she laughed and said "it looks just like you and you would have done it to if you thought of it.", then she reminded me of the time I drank a tin can full of fuel oil on a double dog dare... that turned out as you would expect, not good.
