I've been trying to get through to them on the phone to tell them the same thing but get disconnected.

Good on ya Colt.

Great rant, Sophia, not that it will change the minds of any of the tinfoil hat crowd.

+1 on the DiamondBack, sure would like to see them in .22lr and .38spl, just can't bring myself to purchase one of the overpriced used pistols.

Colt will no longer make or sell rifles to civilians. (all, not just AR-15)
Apology to all: When I originally posted this I made no commentary because I knew it was a business decision. I should have posted the direct link to the story thereby avoiding conjecture and confusion on the part of some.

I sincerely apologize for this shortcoming on my part.

It is a business decision just like S&W made around 1994.

Time will tell what happens.

My guess is that they are on their way out. Maybe a real gun company will buy them out of bankruptcy and turn them around like what happened to S&W.

I hope not. I'm hoping they can reinvent themselves in the revolver marketplace.

A New Colt Woodsman would be cool too.

Pure business decision regarding an inundated market space. Unfortunately, to many are attempting to make something out of a big nothing burger.

I will continue to be a satisfied Colt customer. I wish them well.

If it truly was "just a business decision", whatever that is, it was really bad timing on their part and reflects as such IMO.

They didn’t have to do a press release at all.
Just quit making them.

Years ago they were selling $700 M4 carbines to the government for $1500 as I recall. Not a bad deal. Maybe the $1500 they received, per carbine, was because of the quantity discount.
