A beautiful day for playing hookie from the office. I thought this would be a good one until I scored it. I had six 8s, but no "mighty jerks", yet this score is several points lower than this month's iron sight score.

*******50yrd scoped practice 9/19/19*****

216-2X

STRUGL4X'SC,56

Northern California

Anschutz 1411 from 1963 with the original barrel, many cases of 5000 have gone down the tube.

Weaver T24

SKstd+

42,46-1X,37,44,47-1X

This score did not come easy today cone of aim was terrible, my upper body strength was terrible, but my follow through was fair, and that made a big difference.

After 3 targets I realized that all my bullet holes were below the center line. After making a sight correction My groups were centered but I put several out into the 7"s. That sinks an other wise good score. Oh well ... Next month.

9/21/2019 25 yard iron sight practice
Scores: 425 - 4X
Individual scores: 82, 89-1X, 85-2X, 84-1X, 85
Name: RichJ, 70 this month
Gun:Ruger 10-22, 16" factory hammer forged with 10' bloop tube, Titan stock
Setup:Anshutz aperture with home brew front plastic insert
Ammo: Geco LR
Notes: first 50 rounds after an extended hiatus, heat, rain and a lot of mowing when it wasn't raining. Chainsawing the trees that fell on the trails, did you know when a tree falls only 15% of the time do they fall away or parallel to a trail.

Last target was March, that was a 447-3X..............HOPE to punch a lot more paper this fall.

Welcome back, thank you for the pictures in picture section, looks like a great set up. I have the opposite problem here, the oak trees grow fast shading over my walnut trees and my permanent pasture, but it is so dry and high fire danger that I can't cut them down and deal with the brush for most of the year.

Thank You for the welcome
The new assembled rig feels pretty good. I find if I wait too long to take the shot Iím all over the place, got to be quick but not forced. Would like to try with my M12 or 82G but Iím afraid I couldnít hold either one up for 50 rounds.

Iím lucky in that I pile up all the limbs and brush in a field, wait for a drizzle or wet morning and encourage it to burn.......30 years so far so good.

If itís not raining tomorrow Iím doing it again with irons and scope.

Rich

***25-Yd SCOPED ENTRY***
DATE: 09/21/19
SCORE: 484-5x
NAME: holmegaard AGE: 45
LOCATION: Kentucky
GUN: Tikka T1x MTR
GUN SETUP: _X_Scope (Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO, @10x)
AMMO: CCI Standard Velocity
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 98-3x, 97-1x, 98-0x, 96-0x, 95-1x
NOTES, WEATHER: 88 & mostly sunny, light to moderate breeze from my 4

May not get any more in this month. Got a new pistol for every day carry, need to spend the next week or two of range time with it. Get comfortable with shooting it, prove out reliability etc. Enjoy rifle time much more, but unfortunately the Tikka is a bit anemic for self defense & a bit much for holster carry

Appreciate the kind words! Unfortunately, I do not... handguns have always been a struggle for me. Wheelguns, bottom feeders, full size, compact, pocket size- mediocre at best with everything. The new one (Glock 48) seems to by my goldilocks in terms of fit, so maybe this time my delusions of adequacy will be fulfilled!

Some good shooting going on this month guys !
So far I have only gotten out once, managed a 465 with the Kimber Irons gun.
I really need to be shooting more, seeing all the activity here is encouraging
BTW, welcome back Rich !
Cheers
Bob
