I am about to be the proud owner of a set of Mauser 201’s with Double-Set triggers but I badly need 5-shot .22 WMR and 5-shot .22 LR mags for both of these guns!

ESPECIALLY the 5-shot .22 WMR mags.

Does anyone have a couple or three extra they would sell me. I’m at gilbert159 at hotmail dot com or 248 342 5971. Im Kevin. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve exhausted all other sources. Hoosier Gunworks has none and nobody else does.

Watch Gunbroker and Ebay for the magazines. Eventually they will show up.

Magazine

Look on GunBroker under Voere. The magazine marked REP on bottom are for the bolt action.

The AUT marked straight Voere magazines work as well, the markings are the only difference I have found.

Like Hasbeen I have a KDF model and a Mauser model. I bought KDF K22's back in the late 70's and early 80's. Never had one that wasn't a fantastic shooter with ammo it liked. The beech stocked models were pillar bedded and available with double set triggers if ordered that way. No end caps were installed on them and as Hasbeen noted the sling swivels were not detachable. Accuracy between the standard (birch) model and the deluxe model was the same. I used several standard models hunting Squirrels with no complaints.
Ejection was an issue with all of the models including the Mauser 201's. KDF had an extractor replacement that worked pretty well and some gunsmiths could fix the issue also.
The ammo mine seemed to like quite well is the RWS subsonics and in my opinion is the best Squirrel ammo out there.
Mine have Leupold low rimfire rings installed and require brass shims that I use so the rings will tighten up securely. I have used this ring setup since the late 70's without any issues and the Burris 6X AO mini scopes I use on them are still zeroed and have never changed.

You have a fine looking KDF Deluxe model. I would try RWS rimfire ammo.

The only issue I ever had was once one of mine had the ejector break. I probably cracked it when attempting to clean it without first removing it.

I have the standard model K-22 I bought in in about 1982. It is the most accurate 22 sporter I have owned or seen for that matter. Magazines show up occasionally and are kind of pricey. Ejection on mine is kind of weak, but it works if you move the bolt quickly. Yours is the deluxe model with the double set triggers.

Kleinguenthers- 201s - Voere

K-22 knows these rifles. For those interested Remington 541 bases will work if they are drilled and taped.
Also Mr. Kleinguenther worked for Weatherbys when his rifles were made in Germany before it was moved to Japan. He moved to Seguin, Texas and opened
Kleinguenthers distinctive firearms on hwy 46. He later sold to Phil. Name was changed to KDF.
Kleinguenther then opened another gunshop in Seguin.
I had him do a good deal of work for me. He rebarreled several rifles for me.
Along with muzzle brakes and accurizing a number of rifles for me.
He found out I hand loaded my own ammo and I wound up loading some for him.
He had his own pet loads.

When I asked Phil if he knew if Kleinguenther pillar bedded the K-22 rifles, he said he did not know. Kleinguenther (who used to work for Weatherby) died several years ago. The only way to see if your K-22 was pillar bedded would be to remove the barreled action and look at the stock. Kleinguenther was not a fan of free floating barrels, so if your rifle will not shoot tiny groups you might want to free float it.
Did you get my PM? My offer still stands.
Regards,
The K-22's were Pillar Bedded at least the two that I owned were They guaranteed 1/2" groups @ 100 yds I purchased the 22lr and it would not shoot that well sent it bac to Robert and when it came bac it would he told me that he set the action screws @ 50" lbs

I’ve owned a few Mauser 201 (same as k-22) rimfire rifles. You have the high-end model, with rosewood tip and double trigger. They are extremely accurate, but eject poorly. Try Eley match (black box) or SK Rifle Match. I shot a 240 with SK rifle match and 36x scope, and took home many trophies in USBR plinker and factory classes. Enjoy - you have a great rifle!

Regarding scope rings, anything that will fit an 11mm rail will work on your rifle. I don’t use any brand of rings exclusively, but Burris Signature rings are always a great choice - they hold like super glue and won’t mar your scope.

https://riflemags.co.uk/ sells some new magazines for Mauser and Veore models. And they do (or at least did) ship to the USA.

I had one 35 years ago

Georgous gun with nice walnut but like the others have said it wouldn't toss a empty out for love nor money. It would kick them forward into the locking lugs and you would have take out the clip and stick your little finger in there to get it out. This was before you could order ammo by mail and so I just had cci and Winchester and it did it with both. I sold it for 350 bucks. <sigh>
