I recently picked up a slightly used Tikka T1X with a Bell & Carlson Sporter style stock.

The group below is a 10 shot group of Eley Subsonic at 50 yards.

So far, Iím really pleased with it.

That's a very nice looking rig. Congratulations on the purchase and I am sure that you are going to like the Tikka. The Tikkas at our club are shooting a range of ammo very well and we have several members using Eley subs with great results.

Since your group seems to be strung out horizontally, I wonder if you shoot it with the bipod removed; from a bag or other solid rest if you wouldn't get a nice smaller round group. But it is a great group anyway--shows the rifle-stock and ammo work well together.

The other reason I'm curious is because a stud-mounted bipod is useless for most of the hunting I do. I do use a full length free bipod to good effect though. But the pivot point is always further to the rear than a stud-mounted bipod and that also makes a difference.

You may be right as I only shot off the bipod and didnít try bags or any other types of a rest.

I donít hunt with a bipod either but do use a tripod so Iíll have to see how it does off that platform.

Iím partial to Eley Subsonic for hunting so I didnít try any other types of ammo as I was fairly pleased with the results. I may try some other stuff just to see how it goes.

Give CCI Standard Velocity a try. Many folks, myself included, have had good results with it in their Tikkas. And the price is right.

Well, we aren't so much a club as a loose collective of individuals, but welcome none the less.

That is a nice looking rifle you have.

You may also like Fiocchi Subsonic Hollow Points for hunting. Works great on groundhogs.

That's a nice group. I've been trying to luck up on a lightly used Tikka T1X but having no luck at all.

Nice looking set up and a shooter too. I like my Bell and Carlson M40 stock quite a bit!

It shoots as good as it looks, I'm thinking of doing similar on my T1x .17hmr, just don't care for the factory stock even with the add on forend and grip.
