Guys I know years ago there were maple stock floating around for sale. Who here bought them all up? I bought my daughter a nice 541last year a d the barrel is junk and the color isnt real nice on the stock. So we are making a project out of it. Going to thread it and put a new barrel on It and she love the maple stocks. So I want to trade off this walnut stock and some money for a maple.
Good luck finding one... I'm thinking your best bet if you're serious about wanting that particular stock you may need to find a guy who has a duplicator, find a suitable piece of wood, and have him duplicate a stock using yours as a pattern.
It took me forever just to acquire 1 let alone 17!<img src="https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smilie" class="inlineimg" />
Well I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled looking for one.
These stocks were sold by Gun parts corporation (Numrich Arms) 15 years ago or so. I bought two using them for metalic silhouette shooting they were made for Remington for a Lew Horton contract if i remember right Long gone. Nobody wanted them. Really nice though.
Like this? This was from Numrich in 2008. It was for a 541. The barrel channel is a little big for the 581 but it doesn't look bad. Really gives the plain Jane a makeover. I wish I picked up a 2nd one to have around. I think they were 37.00 or 47.00 bucks.
nope not like that, i bought a couple of those also Thats not maple, maple stocks are really light colored. I dont know how to post pictures but pictures have been posted before.
