OK, so I am the new guy here and I really dont want to waste anyone's time but....

Where is the best place to buy extra magazines for a 457. I am enjoying my ride so far with this new rifle. I cleaned it a bunch today and have the 22 LR barrel "sparkling".

Now I need extra mags in both 5 shot and 10 shot...…

Where do I go ?

Thanks in advance.

If it’s 22lr, the 452 and 455 mags work in the 457. You can find them on eBay and many other online retailers. And for some reason, these same mags work on the Steyer Zephyr II rifles as well.

Signalman1:

I looked there first and did not find any mags for any 22 rifles. Am I old and blind ?

SLS:

I have looked around on eBay but am confused as many of the listings are not labeled, "New in box" and some seem to say reconditioned.... or nothing as to new or "reconditioned".

eBay will have some retailers selling them used as well as new. But if it’s a 22lr , the mags for 452/455 will work. Look at retailers like Natchez, Brownells, Midway, and any others that you’re familiar with.

Well sort of. I needed to clean her 10/22 and the JSR so it was off to the shop. Cleaned hers and the JSR then moved on to the 457. Man the bore is tight with a 22 jag. Worked it with the brush and mop and then used the 17 jag to start and the 22 with a thinner patch to end it. Bore cleaned up nice. Played with the trigger but really did not do too much as I need a set of old fashioned bent hex wrenches down to that tiny one that goes in the trigger itself. There is no creep at all but the pull weight is a good bit higher then I want. YoDave spring should be in by middle of the week I hope. If not I am going to try and adjust it down a bit to see what happens. Surgery on Thursday.

So what’s the consensus on the 5 round poly vs. the 5 round steel. Any performance issues with the steel? Any durability issues with poly etc? I’m looking to buy. A few mags also for my 457 and wanting to understand subtle differences.
