Using a 10/22 receiver to build a Summit straight-pull

So, Iíve got this idea...what if I had a 10/22 receiver (complete or 80%) and wanted to make a straight-pull Summit style rifle? Iíve got the tools and ability to machine any modifications necessary to the donor receiver, but is it do-able? Has anybody else ever attempted something like this? Itís a budget thing, btw. I feel like I can come up with the bits and pieces cheap enough for my way, but the cost to go at just buying a Summit receiver or built rifle just feels out of reach. Iím open to suggestions and havenít purchased anything yet. Just trying to scout it out right now.

Thanks!

I have a Summit and I really don't see that a 10/22 Is that easy of a conversion. I have ideas on how to do it but it would look different than a Summit..

I'd buy a Summit. That looks like something that would be really easy to invest in and not work out in the end. If you did just want to build a Summit, Wirthweinguns.com would be the spot for the receiver for me. And I have definitely thought about it, just don't have the $500 to blow right now.

$550 for the whole build (stock, barrel, receiver, bolt, anything else I've missed) is do-able. $550 for a bare receiver is not gonna work, for me, right now.

Agreed. My Summit is a PWS, but still, it was a lot of engineering on their part. If it was an easy conversion, VQ wouldn't have bought it from PWS.
