When did Ruger change from the Boat Paddle stock to a more conventional design on the 77/22 ?

Thanx,
Jim

Well Jim, I don't really know exactly but I would guess the boat paddle style has been gone at least 10 years or so. Maybe. Seems like it's been a pretty long time since I saw any new on the shelf.

I think it always had a conventional stock, with the boat paddle as an optional model.

Correct-o-mondo ! !

I bought an M- 77/22RS shortly after they were first introduced, when there was only that single, open-sighted model - and it had a conventional Walnut stock.

I remember when the first boat-paddle stocked 77/22's, complete with green synthetic inserts on the PH & forearm, were introduced.

Bill Ruger's pal, the owner of Letts Grips (Ruger's OEM grip vendor at the time) started to supply walnut 77/22 replacement inserts to the general public.

(Mr. Lett passed away shortly after Bill Ruger, and so the Lett Grip Co folded)
