New to the 22 wmr having just acquired my first, deciding what ammo to try first. Appreciate that every rimfire is a law unto itself. But ....
Is there a 22 wmr round that stands out has generally being accurate ?

Good morning D.
I tried most of the 22wmr available at 200 yards.
Transonic shift isn't a problem, poorly assembled cartridges are.
Variations in seating depth and angle, primer/powder caused mv spread,
irregular brass dimensions all contribute to trajectory spread at extended range.
Those differences in cartridge dimensions mean there are no tight 22wmr chambers being cut.
The rifle makers have to cut the chambers to fit the production tolerances accepted by the ammo companies.
Sloppy chamber fit means problems with producing consistent trajectories.
I use the 22wmr for center of critter out to about 75 yards.

The CCI 22 WMR Target looks promising. I just ran 10 rounds while sighting in a new scope with several brands and weights. The Target came inside 3/4" at 50 yards using an H&R single shot with a 4x scope. The 30 Hornady V max was about the same but 2" higher. I dont have enough to do an extended test. I chanced on 2 boxes at Walmart and that was all they had.
