Monthly air rifle club match. Beautiful temperatures but switchy winds kicked out butts!

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 11-1-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: Master
Anschutz Super Air 2002
Sightron @ 24X
JSB Diablo Exact (7.33) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 22

Did I mention the winds were kicking our butts?

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 27

Better.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms HFT-500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Diablo Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 29

It was a struggle to get every stinkin' point. Should have gotten all the Pigs but those d@mned wind switches hosed me.

Next weekend is an odd one where Saturday is the first Saturday of the month, so our club smallbore match won't be till the week after.

Our monthly club match. A bit of shifty wind but not too bad.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~25X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 11-14-20

Round #1, Standard Rifle, AAA class
Chickens - 7
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 26

Started on Chickens and didn't hit a groove until Rams.

Round #2, Hunter Rifle, Master class
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 10 (woot!)
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 32

Much better overall. Happy getting another Master score.

Next Saturday is the state match which we are hosting at our club. We will be doing one 60-shot match for each rifle in order to keep it a one-day event. Here's hoping for good weather! :beerchug:

The Texas state championship match. They were 60-shot matches for each rifle, so I've added the 40-shot conversion in parentheses after the total.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~25X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 11-21-20

Round #1, Standard Rifle, AAA class
Chickens - 9
Pigs - 12
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 11
TOTAL - 41 (27.3)

About average for me, but I wasn't looking for average today.

Round #2, Hunter Rifle, Master class
Chickens - 11
Pigs - 12
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 37 (24.6)

Glad I upped my Chicken score but the afternoon winds really messed with me on the long game. Not even an AAA score. :(

Oh well. I'm sure I'll hit a few really good scores now that the state match is over and done with.
