Aw, schucks, Skeet! You sure know how to make fella feel special. Every single person who participates in this Challenge seems to be a pleasant exception to the generally unpleasant norm of humanity. I've looked at a few gun/hunting discussion forums and RFC is probably one of the finest bunch of folks I've never met

Sounds to me like the range oldskeeter and I go to. 25 miles away and lucky if some yahoo doesn't bring an earschplittenloudenboomer to play with. Of course, they have to get there early to get ahead of me & Rod and we take the 2 left most benches so they can't cover us up with brass.

CZ 452 American, Weaver Grand Slam 6-20X40, SK Magazine
Caldwell Rock BR rest and Caldwell rear bag
89 degrees, calm, scattered clouds
That's the last of the second can of SK Magazine. It did not shoot as well as my first can did. What should I order now? Hmm.

Danny, I've got some wolf match Target ammo that I think shoots almost as good as SK magazine but as long as I've got sk magazine I'm not going to switch. I'm just going to keep shooting it but I think the wolf might do just as well.

Nice target Danny .
I've bought a Protector front bag I'm going to give a try , probably for next months match . I think it'll work better for me than the Caldwell I've been using seems to cradle a sporter stock better than what I was using .
Using a foam yoga block for a front base . I was looking around Amazon for something for a base and stumbled on them . Asked my wife how firm they were and she said they sometimes stood on them without them compressing.
They are 9" x 6" x 4" tall . I tried it this morning before the rain ran us off and the combo worked pretty good with my Caldwell rear bunny ear . Kirby

Good target Danny, you mentioned you were out of the SK magazine and I have been thinking about trying it, local shop has some but I dunno if I will, I had some SK rifle match that was awesome but the shop ran out of it, another ammo I tried was 922A Federal, if was nearly as good as the SK rifle match in my rifle. I would not have thought how much ammo makes a difference even at 25 yards but it does..... for me anyway.

The lot to lot performance variation of rimfire match ammo is frustrating indeed.

Shot a 230-1x this evening with SK match. Only have one box left out of this lot! So it might be down hill after that. I need to get a scoring plug in the worst way. I do have a question about sighters. I have been shooting at the sighters and additional sighters ( those orange stickers you can buy. ) then I shoot the targets from start to finish. Is that the proper way or do some folks shoot sighters when they make a front rest elevation change then resume shooting the targets?
Thanks

I'm not sure what others do but I usually warm up on the 1" orange target dots on a different target, normally under the Green Monster I'm going to shoot. When I think I'm ready to shoot I put 1 or 2 in each of the 3 sighters and then shoot the 25 bulls. I don't usually shoot at the sighters again unless the RSO calls for the range to be cold while I'm shooting. Then when the range is hot again I shoot a couple more sighters before resuming the bulls.

It's probably not necessary to shoot the extra sighters, but like Paul told the Areopagites, I am in all things too superstitious. I'm always afraid if my barrel cools too much I wont hit the same spot as before. Even though I haven't found that to be the case.

Maybe I need to be checked for OCD.

I shot 2 targets with the 2 452 Americans yesterday and bettered both scores some. 244-6X with #1 and 240-5X with #2. As soon as I get a decent picture I'll swap them for the ones now in post #46 on page 4.

My entries for the month ^ Target pictures updated now.
