Me & Snake

Had some fun last Sun. @ the target range.
I installed an BSA 4-16X 40 MM AO Contender Scope.

My quest this summer is to get this rifle into the Ultimate 1/2" club but into the top 10 on the list there....ya with my $400 dollar SSA built the old school way.
So I got the rifle all sighted in @ 50 yards with SK Magazine ammo & was happy.
The first 4 bullet's were stacked right in the Bull...well then there was the fifth shot...crap

Those 5 shots took me 20 minuets watching my two wind flags for the conditions that I sighted the rifle in at.
I think the Snake can do it....we are still giting to know each other

Nice shooting, though I thought it was going to be a story about you and Snake

Where did you find that picture of me....LOL

Here is my 25 yard sight in target with Geco SA.

Had zero wind at the time...but SK magazine is shooting a bit tighter, now any way.
And 50 yards was my deal that morning.

That is excellent shooting for SK Magazine!! I have had pretty good luck with that stuff but not that good

Not to mention excellent job of steering the rifle for best results. Very nice!

Don't ya love it Swiss, our club is famous for its swirling winds on the GP range, wind flags on the 50 yard line dance and prance. All part of the fun.

Yes our 50 yard range is a U shaped 20' berm with trees on the out side & your shooting south.
Ill get to the rest of this range story later....but yes swirling & unpredictable winds.

So good to see that. When SuperStock got running at it's highest level we could out shoot all but the very best Ultimates because they were not tuning their rifles like we were. They were just bolting them together, often with sub par barrels and such, and we proved that and well built and TUNED SuperStock could beat most of the Ultimates back then.

Under DrGunner's leadership the Ultimate 10/22 Forum is just that when it comes to the tiniest groups. He turned that forum around and lead the way on building Ultimate 10/22 rifles.

In the end a big heavy bench rifle is going to beat a practical hunting and plinking rifle like a SuperStock. Does not mean we can't scare them occasionally though Huh?

I have given up my membership in the club I belonged to in Nashville this year because I just can not justify $100 a year to a club I could only shoot at twice last year (one of those got rained out) and the "bench" at my gun smiths's back yard range is a rickiety old picnic table I just can not get comfortable enough on to do any serious shooting so I am now going to start looking for a closer range. I have at least 3 SuperStock build/rebuilds going and need a real range to get back to shooting. Shooting only once a year after a 200 mile round trip just did not get it.

Your rifle and that target really make me want to get with the program on this. Great to see a nice SuperStock occasionally going to play with the "big boys"!

Thanks guys

Just having fun with my Super Stock Snake....the underdog.
$400 buck rifle, 3 lb trigger pull, $4-8 buck a box ammo, 7 year old BSA (better stay away) scope
May have hit the brick wall now ....will find out....
Is fun trying.

Here is two of my reject targets.

The stringing of my groups are probably me squeezing the rear bag , don't be a rear bag squeezer.
If ya need elevation move the rear bag forwards or back and let the rear bag do the work.
I am not a group shooter, more of a bulls-eye shooter got that from shooting
USBR Match's here on RFC every month for 5 years.

She is a shooter "fur sure"
