I am hand rubbing too. I have been chicken to touch it with sand paper.

Vince, that is a perfect example of a SuperStock rifle. Absolute poetry. Given today's debate, thank you for showing what a SuperStock rifle actually looks like...

I think I speak for RFC when I say WOWZZZA! What a great build Vince! That is a great piece of wood, and it is perfect for the fingergroove stock! I have wanted one of them too, and you just made me want one even more!!

By the way, you mentioned Tuck used Arrow Wood Finish, where do you get it at?

Congrats on the secret finally being released to such fanfare!! Beautiful!

Too nice for me Don but I think I will keep it. Funny how each rifle I have built seems to become a part of me, like we are physically attached.

You know you rub on it and stone this and that and polish other things. Then you tune change pressure pads and torque and something else and make sure this and that are aligned perfectly and the barrel has just enough clearance but not too much so as to be ugly. By the time you have the rifle near where you want it the thing is part of you.

It is hard to tell where shooter ends and rifle begins as you get in that trance that makes those bullets fly through the same hole. They become so much more than just another gun. I love this process.

I have only ever traded one of these rifles and it was because it went to a very special person, a new but great friend and he offered a gun in return that is very special. Kind of like giving your daughter away at her wedding. I loved the look on his face when he realized I was talking about a rifle everyone here knows very well. It went to a very good home.

This and the rest will only go to my daughter when I am not here to need them.

Well folks spent the last two days at my friend's gunsmithing shop. Yesterday I spent the day helping two long time gunsmiths do something they had never done. Reaming out a full choke 12 GA barrel and then threading it for interchangeable chokes. I supplied most of the muscle and it took 1 1/2 hours. Tooling alone was $400. When we were done the choke with a little anti seize turned like it was on ball bearings. We were a happy bunch because one wrong move meant buying the customer a new barrel.

I also finished the trigger for 40calcritter's new SuperStock that turned out very nice. He will never post the rifle so I will post it for him and you will like it

Today they paid me back. And then some.

One, member 40calcritter, helping me correct one problem on this rifle and the other, an amazing guy, doing something that makes the rifle much, much prettier. Hopefully pictures tomorrow or Friday at the latest. I have to do a little final work to make it shootable again

Tonight I am tired and hurting but we had two very good days, the kind that make dealing with gun people special
