What else is one to do on Easter while the wife's cooking? Shop! The result was finding a 92% 10" Buckmark and putting it on hold until I can ride down in a couple days and look at it. Tagged at $385 and they verrry seldom wiggle. Have gotten a few REALLY good deals from thier errors so not a big deal anyways.
No fore end (I asked) but have always kinda liked the looong barrel models. Rather go this route than he 10" MKII.
Sounds like a good find. The 10" Ruger MK IIs are selling for almost twice the $385. price.
Passed up a 10" MK II a few weeks ago from the same shop. Tagged about the same if I remember correctly. Have an 8" 22/45 and as much as I like Rugers, I don't like their pistols.
I have a 10" Ruger and a 14" Buckmark, the Ruger is a beautiful gun never misses a beat and accurate. I also have a Buckmark 14" Silhouette, Love the feel of the gun but was having trouble sighting the scope in, I have that fixed (I Hope) but I have not had any ammo since fixing to see. I liked shooting the Buckmark better than the Ruger and it is just an all around nicer gun, Love it, if it shoots right, that I don't know and won't until the ammo shortage is taken care of. May be a year before I get a chance to shoot it again the way things are going.
I went and looked at it tonight. Yup, no fore end and no plug screw. A verrrry small show of surface rust (?) along a small edge of the top rail. Grips are the plain thumbrest ones. It's been shot but in good condition. Felt good and not front heavy at all. Needless to say, it got put on lay-a-way.
Congrats BlkHawk73 on finding a good 'un..As you can tell from all the posts here on the site that you will truly enjoy the accuracy, feel, and reliabillity of the Buck Mark line..Joe, my brother and I have 2 Buck Mark Hunters, his a stainless and truly enjoy taking them to the range..We have owned Rugers, Smith and Wesson 41's and Colt Ace's but in the final anlysis the all around best pistol has been our Buck Marks..Enjoy it my friend..you are now officially addicted...Dave
