Sling Swivel Studs for BL-22 Question

Log in to see fewer ads
Guy's I have not been real active on this forum for a little while. I use to have 9, .22 rifles and pistols but got so tired of chasing ammo I sold them all except my Old Model Single Six. I have recently bought a Henry pump action .22 which I like really well and today I put a Browning BL-22 Micro Midas in Layaway. Man it is going to be an awesome rifle. I always struggle with length of pull, but when I put this to my shoulder it just fits like a glove ( I am only 5'5" tall). Can't wait to get it out, it really has me excited, plus it is my first Browning rifle and really looks well made and made of steel for the most part.
Anyway my question is, I really like to use slings on my rifles. I really don't care to have the front sling attached to the feed tube (but may not have a choice on this rifle). I was wondering if anyone made a front barrel band with stud attached for this rifle ?
If they do can you steer me to a link for it. If not what are you guy's using on the front barrel band ? I have a Rossi 92 that I drilled and tapped for a machine threaded stud but the threads did not hold real good so I ended up smashing out the threaded shaft of the stud that stuck threw to sort of rivet it on permanently to the barrel band. I really do not want to do that to this rifle if at all possible since this rifle is blued and the Rossi is Stainless Steel.
So again what are you guy's using on you're BL'S ?

I did it; and from what I looked into, it looks like the tubular ring is the only option. I believe it's an Uncle Mike's part. I wanted something to use for a possible future Appleseed competition.

I like a sling on a lever gun (helps add stability and helps steady the rifle) It would be great for those reasons and for the fact that you can throw it over you're back for even easier carrying of the rifle.
Flintlock28,
I put a Sling on my Rossi SS 92 on the steel barrel band. It worked out good so far (Jury still out with more use). I realize that I can't do that on this BL-22 because the barrel band it aluminum. I wonder if there is any steel ones out there that would fit this rifle ?
Thanks for the replies guy's

I actually put studs on a micro Midas for my son. The back was no problem but there is very little wood to work with in front although it is doable. My Smith did it for me.and I believe he used one of the Uncle Mike's anchors with machine threading that has a back plate to it...

I would look at a set like this: http://www.brownells.com/shooting-ac...prod41794.aspx

And mount the front sling, on the Mag Tube.

Pretty close to what I did with an Uncle Mike's.

That looks the same as the one's that are on my BL. They were on it, when I bought it used, about 17 years ago.
I'm still using a sling on the gun, and never had a problem, with them.

These three You Tube videos may provide visual assistance? "Uncle Mike's #1341-2 on a Browning BL 22 rifle", "Harris H2BR ugly fit on a browning BL 22 rifle" and "Bayou Gun Sling (no drilling required).

No, I do not see how that one would work. It's for an over and under shotgun. Go on ebay and find one for a .22 sling swivel studs. Should be a ton on there. Here you go this should work
