A supplement to post #44, some all Winchester photos. This Win 52C, with its Redfield International Match, or Redfield Palma, rcvr & Olympic front iron sights, is a 1958 Winchester product, acquired in Connecticut about 30 years ago. The Win 75T, set a bit lower, with Redfield 75 rcvr & Redfield Olympic or model 63 globe front iron sights, is an older 1948 model, also acquired in Connecticut about 33 years ago.
They are both quite content to be shooting actively in Virginia these days; the 75T seems to find RWS rifle match ammo agreeable, and the 52C is now doing its best shooting at 50 yards with Eley Match Black.
10/14/2012 - after years of uncertainty, I de-stocked the 52C barreled action for deep cleaning & measurement; it is definitely a bull-gun.
Barrel diameter is 1.125" at the receiver, and 0.875" at the muzzle.

Photos #3 & #4, below, show the Win 52C higher, and the Win 75T lower; rear sights are a Redfield Palma on the 52, and a Redfield 75 on the Win 75;
they use Merit or Gehmann variable irises. A Redfield International Match rcvr sight is on the table top.

Photo #5, below, Nov. 2014, shows (front row) Redfield 75, Redfield Olympic, (center) Redfield Int'l Match, & Redfield Palma rcvr sights, along with a Lyman 93 front, two Redfield Olympic front sights, and a Redfield 63 globe front. The front sights all use amber plastic inserts. Variable irises are: a Redfield Sure-X, a Merit #3 master disk, and a new Gehmann 510 iris.

It's a 52B with a stainless bull barrel by A&M, a Canjar trigger. The stock maker is unknown. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Currently it has a Leupold BR-36X scope on a EGW mount until my KV mount comes in.

I recently uncovered a Model 52 that my father had stored in the garage wrapped in a blanket for 30 some odd years. By the serial number, it was made in 1932. It appears to be missing part of the magazine release, the sights, and I need some magazines. I am looking forward to cleaning this rifle up and giving it a better life than it has known for the past 30+ years.

Can anyone tell me what sights were stock, or was it something that was different with each rifle?

My Grandfather purchased this 52D Standard Barrel rifle for my Dad when he joined the highschool Rifle Team. My Dad shot with this rifle for 2 years (66 & 67), then it was boxed up when he left for college. The original manual and front sight inserts are missing, but otherwise it's in fantastic shape.

My 52C target

I am 3rd owner, civilian or non CMP 56' 52C with Ken Vannie ( sp?) mounts. I have a 15x Unertl ultra varmint on her now. I have a load of fun with this gun at 50 and 100 yards using cheap Federal auto match, it loves Wolf MT, Eley black box and by far the best ammo I have ever shot at 100 yards was the Federal gold metal ultra match, UM1. fun city that does not break the bank ..
