yea, i use min wax helmsman,

relatively quick drying, no mess, no fuss. i can do 3-4 coats in one day depending on the temp. about $8.00 a can, and i usually use the whole can, about 8 good coats, LOL, $1.00 a coat. only prob is if you get a run or sag, unless it is a tiny one and you can live with that.

just a few ideas to ponder,

rico....

Thanks for the ideal Rico, don't know what I'll use yet. I have some wipe on min wax poly, out of the spray on helmsman, and need some more tung oil.

May end up trying the wipe on poly and see how it does. Course will probably change my mind a thousand times in the next 28 days, LOL.

" Squared" ??

was just looking out of da "oasis" and i think my back stop is not "square", or facing me at the correct angle to my shooting position.

does it make any diff for accuracy?. if so, will have to move a bunch of logs and such.

thanks,

rico....

well me being the expert that Iam so long as your not at a extreme angle I don't think and I stress the think part that it will hurt your accuracy,But I sure do know it bugs me when I am not square to the target ,I would fix it if it was me

Can't you just straighten the target holder and leave the logs? Just keep it in front of the logs but move the target holder it self?

earth,

just ordered 3 "bricks" of AM-22. hope they shoot as good as the other stuff i had. my last 5 rounds with the # XXX bbl went into "one" hole. i couldn't believe it. but nxt week when the brown truck gets here will tell the story.

for me, they are more accurate than eagles or 510 stuff. LOL, cant wait,
giddy-up brown truck, LOL,

rico....

yea, vince, will have to try that.

right now, the logs are sitting on top of the legs of the "holder" to help make the whole shebang more stable.

the prob i'm having is, inside the house, it looks off angle. standing behind the stop looking at the window, it looks okay. might be my acute vision, LOL,

rico....

my oops,

forget to mention, but the frame is made of 2" square tubing. i think i will re-build
using about 6 pcs of 4' long RR ties stacked on top of each other with the logs in the rear as a back-up. then i can screw some plywood to the ties to get a flat surface for the targets.

great idea, vince,

rico....

picked up a new pair of re-chargeable batteries for the camera. have them charging for about 5 hours now. anyone have an idea of how long it takes
on an average. they are nickel cad's, AA size. the red light is on, on the charger, so i guess they are NOT ready yet??

thanks,

rico....

Was surfing ebay and found this stock. Really nice walnut stock but has a I type sling cut in the buttstock. Stock has some really nice grain in it and even witht he cut out would make a nice stock refinished.

AK after seeing the work you did to the painted DSP , maybe make nice project
stock for you, or anyone else here.

Check it out has some nice grain in it.
