I do not really know about one torque more than another. Torque values are usually assigned by thread pitch and screw size.

Having said that on most center fires there is alot more metal around the front screw so it would kind of make sense it you ARE going to tighten one more than the other it would be the front.

Just a reminder

From what I have read above.....SuperStock is NOT a 10/22 forum. The only pure stock rifle on both of our accuracy lists and the first rifle to make all three lists is NOT a 10/22!! Frank is working of TWO Mossbergs. There have been a couple Model 70/75 Marlins here ( my next SuperStock will probably be one of the Marlin Carbines).

I am not criticizing I just don't want to scare away the other guys and ladies.

It's partly a technique to keep me from getting too far out on the fringe, Rico. As Vincent says, "I'm not afraid of my own company" and I could easily go weeks without sharing words with another soul... in fact, I'm generally happiest when alone. But my trips to the range give me a chance to talk to folks who share some of my interests. That said... I have been stomping around on the back side of the ridge looking for someplace that puts some natural backstops between me and the road.

nice looking rig ya have. do they really go 4000 fps?
The box claims 3,900 fps. I don't know if I'm getting all of that but they do move pretty darn fast compared to my 22s. I imagine its as close to shooting with a beam of light as it gets. Just for curiosity's sake I converted that 3,900 fps to mph ---> 2,660 mph!

Sophia, those 527's are just a kick aren't they? I've had my 22 Hornet for exactly a year now and have almost forgotten my other centerfires. The wierd part is that mine is a maple stock and maple does strange things. It is actually prettier now than a year ago. The grain just continues to darken and change!!

Buy the way, a friend of mine, Bob Hahnin makes what he calls a "Bob Sled" for them. It is a machined piece of delrin plastic that replaces the ugly magazine. I have been shooting mine as a single shot for about 10 months. I like it much better that way. Good fun.

As for being a hermit and friend once told me "Us hermits got to stick together"..... Sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Hah! Love that. It's in the same vein as a bumper sticker I saw: "Ask me about my vow of silence."

well,

this may be the place to post that i'm gonna lube up some am eagles and see how they do vs the out of the box copper washed stuff. update on any variance later,

only prob is, just a dab on the "pointer" - n- the "hitchiker" only lasts about 15 rounds, and wanna do 40 or so, will take a bit of time, but will see if it is worth the trouble or is just a pain in the butt, LOL,??

rico....aka doc "rrhoid", LOL,

Fat Baby seems to prefer the 510's. But I get decent groups so far with the AE22hp's. As some as the torquer gets here I'll do a little testing.

Ok Superstockers get over to the Savage forum and check out the new stock my daughter got me for Fathers Day!

Nice Boyds Target stock in Applejack. Just got to get a trigger guard and mag plate now.

Then I want to steelwool it and apply some tung oil to gloss it up some. Want this stock to shine as much as my youngest daughter does.

Thanks Rico,

I think so, I also feel blessed that she likes to shoot with me.

Hadn't thought about the high gloss poly, may have to check that out.
