Yet they shoot as good or better than other rifles with match chambers

One of life's little mysteries I guess . . .

Was out yesterday to sight in my 452 FS, my favorite squirrel load is CCIs 22SGB, guess what it will not chamber very easily. Don't know about match chamber or not but they have a very tight chamber. I have a custom Ruger 77/22 with a match chamber and it won't chamber that CCI load either. Always have at least 10 brands when I sight in 22s, grabed some Wally World bulk Federal HPs, shoot in at about .4 of an in. at 25. Less than .6 at 50 yds. from the bench. Guess that will be my new squirrel load for now.

The CZ 452 match chamber and 'choked muzzle' have been discussed at length on this board in the past. I know a search on the subject would certainly add to this discussion.

I think the answer is "no, not exactly."

If you chamber a .22LR round in something with a match chamber (a Remington 40X or Winchester 52) and then extract the unfired round, you will notice significant engraving on the bullet - typical of the "match" chamber.

If you do the same thing in a U.S. made "sporter" rifle, you will generally not see the engraving on the bullet because the chamber is looser - that's a sporting chamber.

If you do the same exercise on the CZ you will find that there is some engraving on the unfired bullet. Not as much as a true "match" chamber, but not the nothing of "sporting" chamber
