Hi 50Shifty,

I use to hunt in Florida a lot with tall grass and you couldn't see a snake on the ground. But, I could hear them scurry away. Always hated that sound. I used Gaiters for a while but eventually went to sanke proof chaps. If you can find a pair that fit good you might like them better than gaiters. I had a couple of pair that were made from 1000 denier nylon. They were light weight and were my favorites.

I can't recommend any as I haven't used them for many years.

Frank

I have always used the snake proof boots and snake proof chaps, maybe over kill, but being hit many times in the south while quail hunting, I felt better having double protection while in the woods/swamps!!! plus the chaps would help with the wet morning dew and heavy briar's....

After a close call with a canebrake rattlesnake back in September's opening day of dove season, I think I am going to be investing in some snake gators.
