Wonder how it will stack up to CCI and Hornady

Here's hoping they do 22lr and 17hm2 ammo too

Note the styrene box and brick wrapper.
Betcha the manufacturer's date code on the side is CCI.
In which case, like Hornady, it is CCI.

To my eye it looks like CCI VNT.

I will still try a box or two if given an easy chance.

If the "street price" does go for $10.00 or less, I'll try them when given the chance.
But to me, the pictured cartridge looks much the same as the Hornady 17gr Vmax.

The label may read Hornady
but the cartidges in the box are CCI.
Only differences are headstamps and tip color.
Same with Federal and Remington 17 hmr.

Norma has been offering .22 LR for some time now, Norma Match and Norma Tac. When Norma Match first came out I shot some, I bought a case, it was really good AMMO, I bought two more cases, it sucked, I tried the Norma Tac, it was/is decent ammo if you get the right lot#
I has the RAUG headstamp like the RWS ammo. Who's going to make the .17HMR, I haven't a clue.

We can determine the manufacturer when it finally shows up on the shelves for purchase.

Until then it's fun to discuss the probabilities.

When I first read about the Norma labeled 17 HMR ammo a couple weeks ago I sent and email to Norma asking if this was something they were making in house or if it was being made by CCI or Winchester for Norma. That was a little over two weeks ago and I've yet to get a response from them.

If I were to put a wager on it, I'd bet this stuff is being made by CCI.

When companies are guilty as charged, never expect an honest, forthright answer from them....

They already make Norma Tac-22LR, which shoots exceptionally well in my Mauser 201.

norma

Norma has always been a premium priced ammo. If the Norma branded 17hmr and 22wmr has a price point comparable to CCI and Hornady rimfire ammo. I would wager CCI is manufacturing it. If Norma did manufacture it and held the price point beneath 15 dollars a box I would probably have some on hand. I remember the days of the winchester supreme 22 wmr ammo it was a premium ammo and it shot very good.

It's clearly cci because it has a cci lot number one the side of the box and it says made in USA on it

When Norma Match came out, my experience was the same. Fantastic accuracy in 3 of my Anschutz 22's. I bought a case, shot some more and bought another case. I was lucky though and bought from the same outfit and received the same lot number!! Anxiously waiting to see if Norma is making this themselves>
