Benchrest Mania - A Benchrest Simulation

I was out on the range yesterday trying to dope the wind with a .22 for the first time. Going at it blind was tough. Using this simulation will help me understand wind drift and I expect to do better on my next trip to the range.

its awsome for helping the learning curve. I have started shooting at 200yds (just for fun) and even with a 54" holdover I can hit the swinging plastic bottles occasionaly. I am always close. oh those bottles are 16 and 20 oz size not 2litre.

One cool game, I just shot 249-13X on my first try. OK, I'm addicted!

great for hand eye coordination, scored 247 18x`s first try, 249 20x`s 2nd... 52 year old eyes,wait `til I get my new glasses

For sure......249 21X w/.25 settings as originally downloaded.

The suggestion of a freeze frame would sure be nice for analyzing. This would be a super learning tool taken to the top level. Can you do it w/o slaving days over a hot keyboard????

I just tried it for the first time and I shot a 241 -2x. Those Xs are tough to get. I had several that I thought were full value x hits but apparantly they werent!! Thanks for the great little program!!! I love it. Now to open up the group size like the other fellow suggested.....

Just downladed it and played it for the first time...242-4X. Not bad considering I wasnt actually trying to compensate for conditions...just put the cross hairs in the center =)

I can see this as a good tool to learn how to adapt for conditions and better understand the effects of those conditions.

Edit: Attempting to interpret the factors, my second try was 243-8X

Guys I guess I'm just plain stupid or an extremely slow learner....when the wind is random all 3 flags are pointing in different directions. Which flag is dominant?


Maybe someone could help out an old 68 year old and give a tutorial on the 3 flags?

I just tried the game, found it interesting and I don't know if this is right or not but I figured the last two flags were the dominant ones? I tried to take my reading from between those two flags and ended up shooting a 247-7x with a 3 to 4 - 9 O'clock Random Wind. When the middle flag went wacky I then relied on the last flag closest to the target.

In any event this is fun and I surely do express my thanks for allowing us this opportunity to have a go at this.

The game is a bit addicting. Any idea of why the program crashes when I try to change the settings. Actually, whether I make changes or not, when I save out of the set up screen the program crashes and I get a runtime error. I'm running Vista. I'll try it on the laptop and see what happens. Regardless it's fun.

The program did install to the root directory so I don't think that's the problem. I may try to re-install it but either way it's a fine game. It works fine on my laptop running XP. FYI, this was in no way a complaint. I appeciate the hard work that you must've put in to this program and appreciate that your sharing it with the rest of us.

248x9 whatever that means on third try very cool game although i have no idea what the scores mean,does anybody else know?
