What scope for CZ 457 MTR

So I broke down and paid full boat for a CZ 457 MTR, as they are as rare as hen's teeth. What scope would you recommend for it that won't break the bank since I did that for the rifle. I want to shoot long range 300 to 400 with it. I can go as high as $500. for the scope. What would you recommend? Thanks for your time, shotgun.

I had a brand new MTR out yesterday with the SWFA 20x. The scope is clear, eye relief was less forgiving than I expected with a fixed power optic. The reticle worked well for me though. The hundred yard drop on Eley bulk was just about dead on for the second diamond down from the cross-hairs when zeroed at 50. Worked really well at 100 yards. Couldn't speak to longer distances. 30mm tube, FWIW. Knobs were OK: somewhere between "mushy" and "crisp." I have not yet tried a box test.

The other scope I am testing out this spring is a "Disovery" brand Chinese wonder-scope. 5-25. Price was reasonable, shipping took forever. . . on a slow boat from you-guessed-it.

The other inexpensive optic I have used happily at 100 yards is a Mueller 8.5-32x44. It is a 1-inch tube. Don't know what the MOA elevation is for this tho' as there ain't no free lunch.

So I been looking at the Vortex Diamond Back 6-24x50 - EBR-2C MOA for 400 bucks. Seems to be good glass with FFP. Won't have any picks of it till it gets here, should be showing up Fri. Did get a 25 moa 457 weaver rail for it, that was a hundred dollar bill. Have not got the rings yet, not sure what scope and height need for it yet. Would like a 30 mm tube for it. Got some Eley contact and Aquila target to try and see if it likes it. Need to find some other sub-sonic to try. Can't wait to get in my hands, never hand a really nice peace of wood before. Other some of my old 86's and some old antique flintlocks nothing new. Most of my stuff now days are black guns and 1911's. This should be quite a bit different from shooting the 10/22 at 250 yards. I will check out the suggest optics mentioned by you folks, thanks shotgun.

I can only echo what's been said so many times before here. The Weaver Grand Slam 5-20 is the best glass you can get for under $500 ($399 at Natchez right now). Once they're gone that's it, they're not making any more. The glass on my GS scopes is honestly comparable to my $1400 NF scope. Don't get me wrong the NF is a better scope, but not by $1000. Not even close.

Hoppes, where did you find the Midas Tac for under $500. The cheapest I can find it is on evil bay for $579. It looks a lot better than the Diamond Back. Thanks Shotgun

Well I made up my mind and got a scope coming. Spent bunch of time looking at everyone recommendations and watched a bunch of You-tube videos reviewing them. I went with the Midas TAC 6-2450 APLR4 FFP MOA, everyone thinks for the price it's great scope with repeatable turret tracking doing box shooting. The price for the Weaver was nice, but I hate that recital on it. I prefer this one or tactical mil lines as This what I am use to shooting long ago at sniper/tactical matches 20 years ago. has a sale on right now this weekend, mine was $579 with the sun shade a little over $600. with free shipping. The mil version is an extra $40 bucks. Thats' the best price I found anywhere so far. Now I just need to get everything ordered for it, lap the rings and get the barrel broke in. Then get an appointment at the Lapua Center to see what it likes, I am only about hour 1 1/2 away from the Mesa center. Thank you all for your help Shotgun
