Went to a Gunshow this morning looking to buy a 617 S&W and almost pulled the trigger on a 52C Winchester for $750 with Redfield international sights. Kinda wished I had bought it maybe I'll buy it next time. It is a small gunshow with a lot of private vendors and he should be there next time. But the money I budgeted for was for a 617 and I need to stick to my plan since I already own a 52C. Very well maintained 52C but still think that $750 is a little steep.

$750 for a 52C is a bargain and you got Redfield sights . I am assuming it was a heavy barrel. (not bull barrel)
I just paid $950 for a C

I better go to Texas guns shows.

Yes it was a heavy barrel, and I purposely had only $675 cash so that I would not get side tracked. I did offer the $675 but he would not except it. I already got a great bargain on a 52C a few years ago that I bought for $500, but I'll be there at the next gun show looking for him.

If the sights were included and in good shape I couldn't have opened my wallet fast enough at that price. Sometimes you just have to alter your plans a bit to accommodate a sweet deal.

That is so true. I once saw a minty M70 pre war at a gun show in Vegas. It was US marked and was $2,500. I wanted it so bad, I went to the Rolex dealer on site and tried to sell him my Submariner. No deal there, so I went to the cashiers cage and got the $$$ on my credit card.
