I found a very good condition 82 sporter for sale but I'm not sure if it's worth buying. It has great figure in the butt of the stock but the forward portion is pretty plain. It also has an ebony tip on the stock. It has been fired as well.

Here are pictures

Price is $875 and he won't budge. I want a little room for profit if I'm not happy with the way it shoots.

I would jump on that one, I've seen plain Classic models at higher prices than that one, and it obviously is a higher grade.

Looks like a nice custom classic made late enough to have the bolt stop. That is a very good price. You can get out of that one easy if you don't like it or decide to move on.

$875 is a steal. If you aren't interested, please PM me the dealer's contact info and I'll buy it.

Lucky for me it isn't at a shop I didn't pick it up today but will probably get it after the first of the year. I thought it was a pretty good price.

Ok I didn't notice this the first time I looked at the rifle. It has a heavy barrel. Is this worth less than the sporter?

No, worth more as a HB. They are much more rare. Better jump on it quick!

Edited to add, looks like it's on GB. Did the seller raise the price, or did you buy it to flip?

I didn't buy it for profit but I am not a collector either. If someone will pay what I am asking I can buy another rifle that I will be equally happy with using. If t doesn't sell I'll shoot it and if I don't like it take it to a gun show. Always thankful for the great information here!
