25 Tacks @ 25 Yards CZ Varmit

I like this game alot it is a fun target to shoot. I want to shoot the 50 yard version as soon as the wind lays down. I shot this target using CCI SV with my CZ 452 Varmit. Thanks for bringing this game over to the bolt action area.

Nice shooting trimguy

50 yards should be quite a challenge, hoping to see some good results at that distance.

Thanks Houndog, the 50 yard target is going to be a challange for sure. I tried one 50 yard target at dawn this morning before the wind got up. Drank alot of coffee too.....
I managed to drive 12 with CCI SV. I think I can do better, hopefully come up with something worth posting. If it was easy it wouldnt be worth doing. I'll try again later for sure maybe try a "better" ammo

I made a couple of attempts this afternoon, shot with the Walther KKJ and Eley Sport from a front rest and rear bag. There is room for improvement, one more excuse to go to the range

50 yards will be tough for sure

Gave it my best today. This is officially my first Superstock Bolt action game. I did horrible but i was close on almost all the shots.

Info: SouthernJeepn06
Gun: Marlin 925R with Bushnell 3-9x40 set on 6x. Crappy 10 lb trigger
Ammo: CCI SV. I did not try the Remington/Eley I had.
Rest: Winchester bags from walmart with towel under front bag
Weather: 95 deg +, slight wind but shooting with berms on either side
Hit: 5 tacks, came close on a lot

I had to resight my rifle in since it's been so long so I shot at the sights and it was low and right so went back to paper and shot until I had it zeroed then re-shot the sighters.

It was a challenging game. I would post up Country_Boy's but he got 4 hits using the same rifle (we both have a 925R and we are twins ). His, however, has a Basix 2 lb trigger.

Hey, you didnt do horrible at all for your first try, with a 10 pound trigger and your scope turned down to 6x. Those are some pretty tough handicaps for sure.... Wont your scope focus at 9x at 25 yards? If it will turn it up Use all the magnification you can, even though you probably have hawkeyes at your age
I like your range set up too Keep on trying......

I had a hard time seeing the lil circle bc my reticle covered it at 6x so I kinda had to guess each time by lining my crosshairs across the row and vertically with other circles. It wasn't the easiest thing to do if you can tell. My brother had the same problem using his Pentex Lightseeker 3.5-10x50. He couldn't get past 5X.

My scope will not focus at 25 yards, it was a lot worse with my previous scope (bushnell rimfire) but It does great after 40 yards. It's a Redhead rimfire scope I got from Bass Pro Shop. I'm actually in the market for a new one but can't spend over $150. i was looking at getting the same one as my brother. He ordered a BSA 4-16x40 Mildot Rifle Scope.

Any suggestions on what scope to use for these games, silhouette shooting, and NRA light rifle?

Agreed, not a bad attempt at all. There are not too many targets submitted here yet, it's a tough shoot.

Nice range setup, thanks for posting

EDIT: For a rimfire scope being used at the range I look for something that has an adjustable focus, at least down to 25 yards. I just put a Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12X on my T-Bolt that seems to work well. The scope on my Walther KKJ used to shoot the target above was an older Bushnell Trophy 3-9X with adjustable focus.

If you want a nice scope for a good price I would suggest a Mueller APV 4.5x 14. They are well within your budget at $115 delivered to your door. I have 2 of them and I like them real well. They look good on top of the rifle, they are clear and they hold zero very well. It will help you in these game alot, you wont find a better scope for the same money IMO... You can get them here at Rimfire Central from Outdoor Optic Shop they are one of the sponsers, quick service too........

I did just that today. Made me 8 copies. Gonna try to give it a shot this weekend with the CZ Varmint.
